Day 59

Day 59: Florence

Got on the coach to head to Florence. We got off out the front of the Accademia Museum which holds the famous David. There was stunning statues  by Michael Angelo and paintings by different famous painters.

Walked to the cathedral Di Santa Maria del Fiore. The exterior was stunning. The colours were pink, green and white. The building was very gothic with the windows and door shapes. Then Islamic with the patterns imprinted on the walls.

After the church we walked to another museum called the Uffizi gallery we didn't get to go inside but you could see famous statues from the outside.

We then went to a view point of the ... Bridge. You could see a perfect reflection of the bridge.

We walked back to the church and had free time afterwards to shop and walk around the areas.

Then got back onto the coach and headed back to the hotel. Tonight is our last night with the group so Trafalgar had a leaving dinner. It was beautiful we went to an Italian family's home up in the hills. There was a beautiful view from their house. They make their own olive oil, wines and honey. We tried all of it during our dinner.

Overall it was a very full on day and I will be glad to rest my feet tomorrow on our drive back to Rome.

Xx
