Day 43:
Today we got onto the site seeing bus to take us to the waterfront. We the decided to go to the aquarium. We originally wanted to do Robbin Island and table mountain but the weather was horrible and they weren't running.
When we arrived at the aquarium there were hundreds of school children obviously having a field trip to the aquarium. We were trying to get in front of them for most the creatures because I didn't want to feel rushed to take photographs. There were different types of sea life on the first level such as stingrays, star fish, sea horses, crabs, ragged tooth sharks and tones of different breeds of fish.
When we finished off around the first level we went up the ramp to where the African penguins were. This is were we got to watch workers feed the penguins. On the same level there were also leopard frogs and a tank full of different range of huge fish!!
Around the side from that tank this was the home of the sharks. There were 3 huge ones. In the same tank there were sting rays and one longneck turtle which we didn't end up finding in there.
After we walked around the aquarium once we walked out and decided we were going to come back to have a even better view when the kids leave.
We then walked around waterfront. We walked to the clock tower this is where you can get your tickets to go to the ribbon island. We decided we wanted to do this tomorrow because it wasn't running today. We had to book our tickets in advance because they were almost sold out. After booking Robbin island we walked around the clock tower shops. There wasn't much to see just some galleries and jewellery stores.
We caught the site seeing bus around to see table mountain and get to know our bearings around Cape Town. We got to see around the beaches and kept an eye out for whales but there weren't any we could see. We got to our stop and ran for cover because it was cold and raining. We ended up going to mc Donald's to get hot chocolates and then go to the shops to buy some chocolates for energy food of course. We then went back to the hotel. When we got to our rooms we received a letter saying that the power was going to go out tonight as well. It was going to go out at 6 and finish at 8:30 so we made sure we were ready to leave for the water front to grab some dinner by 6.
We wanted to catch the site seeing bus again but we just missed the bus and didn't want to wait half an hour for the next one so we just walked to waterfront. When we got there it was just after 7 and this was the busiest period to eat. There were long queues for restaurants and we couldn't get into the one we had our eye on for the last few nights called city grill. So we decided to go to the place we had lunch at the first day we arrived in Cape Town.
After dinner had a quick shop around the shopping centre. Then we got a taxi back to our hotel.
