Day Seven

Day 7: Aswan

Today was quite a relaxing day we first went to a temple called Kom-Ombo temple. This place was pretty incredible but there was an earthquake which destroyed most of the temple so when we visited it there were parts of the temple missing. It was still pretty amazing. Not everyone went to visit the temple I think everyone wanted a nice sleep in or they didn't realise it was right around the road to where the boat was docked.

The highlight of this temple was the crocodile museum this is where they used To mummify crocodiles. It showed us why they the romans and egyptians worshiped the crocodile because they were afraid of them and thought if they created a god it would be less scary.

After this temple we had free time on the cruise then we headed off to another temple called Edfu temple This was a temple that was built to worship the God Horus.

The site of Edfu contains the most complete and best-preserved temple in Egypt, the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus. This was constructed between 237 BC and 57 BC on top of the remains of earlier temples.

We arrived at Edfu temple on horse and carriage it was incredible I felt like a princess!! We had to remember which horse was ours because we had to have the same driver on the way back.

After the second temple headed back to the ship and had a few hours to relax. Just chilled by the pool and played truth and dare with the rest of the group. I dared Andrew to run around the ship like superman with a towel as a cape it was hilarious. We made another guy go up to a group of Asians and try to kiss one on the hand and we made a girl go around the ship offering a free massage it was hilarious!

Xx.
