Day Fourteen

Day 14: Dahab

Today we woke up early to learn how to dive. The dive place called Red Sea picked us up at 8:45 am to have our introduction dive. Six of us had to fit in the truck the two boys had to sit in the boot of the truck. Two people already had their diving ticket so they went off on their own with an instructor. There was four of us who have never dove before. We had to go in partners of twos so Andrew and I went together while the other two went together. There wasn't enough small boots to wear for me which was annoying so we had to wait till when the other girls were finished with their dive for me to have all my equipment. Damn having small feet !!! Hahha. Usually it has its perks but not with diving.

The first group went for like an hour so Andrew and I just had some smoothies at a cafe waiting for them to be complete. Once they popped out of the water it was our time to go in. I really wanted to bring my go pro in the water to take photographs of all the lovely marine life but it was too hard especially because I've never dove before in my life! It was really scary like I almost hyperventilated a little bit by the breathing but then I calmed down and I was fine in the end. Andrew thought I would pussy out but I kept going on! We learned to dive At a place called the lighthouse. The fish were amazing there weren't as many as the blue hole but the ones here were massive!

Diving was pretty incredible it is completely different to snorkelling and it was actually pretty scary, but it was worth every penny and I can definitely see myself going for my dive licence back home!

After diving we hung around the market area because it was our last chance to do some last minute shopping before we head back to Cairo. We decided to have a really late lunch which meant we weren't hungry for dinner so we spent the rest of the day packing and making sure we aren't leaving anything behind.

It's going to be sad to leave Dahab wish we were spending more time here!! Oh well next time we will come back and try kite surfing and lots of other things !

Tomorrow we are heading back to Cairo then starting our journey to Zanzibar. Stay tuned if you want to hear more about my fun day driving back to Cairo! Xx
