Day 38: South Africa
Today we woke up at 6:30 to have breakfast at 7. We didn't leave the camp site until 8. Today we are heading to Numbi Campsite which is right near Kruger national park.
We got to Numbi resort at 2:30 then we had enough time to have lunch, then set up our tents for the last time for the trip. We are staying here for 2 nights. When we first got here there was the reception area which had a tiny pool, fountains with Japanese coy fish and a cage of budgies. Then we got to the camp site it was nice and big but I just thought it was missing something. We had to pitch up the tents on the sand banks they provided us with which was pretty cool.
For the first few hours we walked around the place and Sussed out wifi, laundry and if people wanted to upgrade. We didn't upgrade we just thought it would be a waste of money and we could use that to do something cool in Cape Town . We then went outside the gate and went around the little local shops out the front. It was a Sunday so mostly everything was shut which was annoying but it was still a nice area.
Then we came back and played soccer, then it changed into a game of volleyball against Ireland and Australia and of course Australia won!!!! Woohhh!! Haha.
Elton then cooked us a local dinner which was chicken, with shima (which is made out of corn maize) its almost like a mash potato but it didn't have much of a taste. Then he made peanut butter cabbage which I tried but didn't really like it. Overall it was nice to try a local dinner. After dinner we had a show to watch. Local people came to sing and dance for us. It was awesome! They got us to dance with them in the end.
Xx
