Day Two

Day 2 in Cairo:

We woke up at 6 am because it was 12 pm at home bloody time difference!! There wasn't much we could do because most the things didn't open till 10 so we stayed at the hotel. We found a Wi-Fi spot in the lobby luckily so spent a few hours chilling there. Then we sunbaked by the pool. The pool was incredible. It was so blue and beautiful but the water was freezing!! The pool had the most amazing view of the two pyramids.

We then decided that we wanted to do a little bit of shopping. We wanted to find local markets that we could go to but the hotel insisted that we go to these shops. The first one we went to was called Meret Centre El Bazaar. This shop sold almost everything to do with souvenirs. Statues, Jewellery and leather wallets. It was hard not to buy everything but i had to hold back because I didn't want to spend all my money at once. I brought two charms for my charm bracelet. I got my name written in Egyptian hieroglyphics code on a charm and then I brought myself a pyramid charm.

Then underneath this shop there another store, which sold papyrus paper with lots of different Egyptian designs, painted on them. These designs mainly relate back to the Egyptian gods or they told stories. The store showed us how to make the
Papyrus and I even helped roll out the papyrus plant.

Andrew brought a papyrus painting that glowed in the dark of King Tutankhamen. It was amazing !!!
Hope you have enjoyed this post and I can't wait to share the rest of my holiday with you all.

Xx
